CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Tyler Herro scored 27 points, Duncan Robinson added 22 points on six 3-pointers and the Miami Heat held on to beat the Charlotte Hornets 98-94 on Wednesday night. Ta.
Bam Adebayo had 10 rebounds and 10 assists for the Heat, who bounced back from Tuesday night’s 106-103 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks in NBA Cup play.
LaMelo Ball had 32 points and 10 rebounds for the Hornets, who have lost five of their past six games. Brandon Miller scored 21 points and rookie Tijan Saraun scored a career-high 17 points.
The Hornets rallied from a 20-point deficit to take the lead when Saraun drilled a corner 3 with 42 seconds left.
The lead didn’t last long, however, as Herro answered with a 3 and then a steal. Herro made 1 of 2 free throws after being fouled, giving the Hornets a chance to tie or win with 6 seconds left. Cody Martin was fouled but missed both free throws. Miami’s Kelel Ware made two free throws to seal the victory.
Jimmy Butler left the game in the third quarter with a back injury and did not play in the fourth.
