FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) – A South Florida organization has taken on the gift of donations this holiday season.
The Wise Mind Project, in partnership with Summit Van Lines, held its annual Miracle Toy Drive on Friday at Northside Elementary School in Fort Lauderdale.
For more than 15 years, the event has provided gifts to more than 300 students each year.
“From that point on, every child’s name is called and they are given a gift that someone in the community has purchased especially for them,” said Michele Verdi-Knapp, director of the Wise Mind Project. “We receive gifts and children make wishes come true.”
Back in October, each child wrote a letter to Santa Claus with their wish list. They were then given to area donors to help make everyone’s holiday wishes come true.
