MIAMI, FL – A serious accident involving a tanker truck has left one driver hospitalized and caused significant traffic disruptions on Interstate 95 (I-95) in Miami. The incident occurred on Friday evening, resulting in the tanker rolling over and spilling fuel across the roadway.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the four-vehicle collision took place in the northbound lanes of I-95 just prior to the exit for I-195 East, leading towards Miami Beach. The accident led to the spillage of approximately 200 gallons of oil, prompting a substantial response from rescue and cleanup crews.
Traffic Management and Road Closures
In response to the fuel spill, FHP troopers closed all northbound lanes of I-95 south of State Road 112. Additionally, the eastbound ramps of State Road 836 and the westbound I-395 were also shut down. Fortunately, the express lanes remained operational during the chaos.
Motorists were advised to reroute via westbound State Road 836 and were strongly encouraged to avoid the area while cleanup efforts were underway.
Injuries and Emergency Response
The driver of the tanker was swiftly transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Officials reported that the driver’s injuries were not life-threatening, which provided some relief amidst the ongoing incident.
