MARATHON, Fla. (WSVN) – A sea turtle nursed back to health in the Florida Keys was released into the Atlantic Ocean this weekend.
The marine reptile, named Harlow, was discovered in June because it was covered in barnacles and unable to dive.
A team at Turtle Hospital in Marathon said Harlow was in a near-death condition, but she was saved just in the nick of time.
In preparation for her release on Saturday, Harlow was given antibiotics and fed a healthy diet of lobster and honey. She also underwent spa treatments to repair her shell.
