Fort Lauderdale Resident Seeks Help After Watercraft Theft
A disturbing incident occurred recently in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where Edward Navarro became a victim of watercraft theft right outside his home. Navarro reported the crime after discovering that his personal watercraft was missing upon returning from work.
The Incident
Navarro parked his watercraft in a designated spot near the intersection of Federal Highway and Oakland Park Boulevard. He normally kept his vehicle in front to deter theft. However, on a Thursday evening, he noticed it missing when he arrived home.
Investigating the Theft
Upon realizing the theft, Navarro reviewed surveillance footage from his home. “I’m assuming that they do this professionally and that they’ve done this plenty of times,” he commented after seeing the evidence captured on camera.
Feeling frustrated, he reported the theft to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, expressing the emotional toll it has taken on him. “Not a very pleasant thing to come home to or even think about. It really sucks,” Navarro stated.
Public Assistance Requested
As police continue their investigation, Navarro is encouraging the community to remain vigilant. He hopes that with public awareness, he can locate his stolen property. “I work very hard, work very, very hard, and I put a lot of time into recovering that machine,” Navarro emphasized.
To incentivize tips, he has announced a reward of $1,000 for any information leading to the recovery of his watercraft.
