DAVIE, Fla. (WSVN) – A Plantation Police Officer was injured in a crash involving a subject fleeing from police in Broward County.
Plantation Police said Tuesday afternoon they attempted to arrest a driver with an outstanding warrant near Peters Road and University Drive.
The driver took off toward authorities, causing several crashes.
The incident occurred just after 4:30 p.m. near Davie Road and State Route 84 in Davie and involved two vehicles.
Davie police said one of the vehicles involved was a Plantation Police Department vehicle and an officer was injured.
Davie Fire Rescue transported the officer to a nearby hospital. Their condition is unknown.
The second driver involved remained at the scene and was evaluated by DFR. Their condition is also unknown.
The driver was able to elude authorities and is currently on the run.
Police are still investigating the accident and searching for the suspect.
