OK Go Launches New Album and National Tour
Rock band OK Go is gearing up for an exciting 2025 with the release of their fifth studio album, And The Adjacent Possible, alongside an upcoming national tour slated to start on April 23.
Innovative Musical Journey
It has been a decade since OK Go’s last album, but the band is back and eager to engage with the world through their new sound. Band member Tim Nordwind noted the shift in their perspective, stating, “I think some of our records before were very observational, but sort of inward thinking, and this I think, we’re looking more out towards civilization.”
Visuals that Captivate
The group is incorporating technology into their work as never before, most notably in the music video for their latest single, “Love.” According to lead vocalist Damian Kulash, the video features 29 robots holding mirrors to create intricate visual effects. He explained, “Once you’re in the business of working with robots, things get very complicated very quickly.”
Creating the desired visual effects required precise choreography that only robots could achieve. Kulash described the process, stating, “We just wanted to do these very simple mirror tricks, but choreographing those so that they happen at the right place in the song… required greater specificity and exactness than a human can do. So, we had to draft robots.”
Relatable Themes in New Music
The lyrics in And The Adjacent Possible reflect personal experiences, particularly those of Kulash as a new father. However, he emphasized that the album transcends personal narratives, addressing broader societal shifts. “It’s not really about fatherhood as much as it is about the feeling of the precipice that… feels like we’re all on individually, as a band and more largely as society that things are changing so fast and in ways that feel like we won’t be able to go back,” Kulash shared.
National Tour Details
As they prepare to perform live again, Nordwind expressed excitement, saying, “It would be nice to be just in a room full of people listening and dancing.” Fans can now stream And The Adjacent Possible and anticipate their upcoming tour.
