NFL Player Ramel Keyton Hooks a Great White Shark During Fishing Trip
Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was the backdrop for an incredible fishing story recently, as Ramel Keyton, a wide receiver for the Las Vegas Raiders, successfully caught a great white shark. This unexpected catch took place over the weekend while Keyton enjoyed quality time with his mother and Captain William Daley from Fishing Headquarters.
The Exciting Catch
During their outing, the group spent nearly an hour fishing before experiencing what can only be described as a thrilling moment. According to Captain Daley, “We’re sitting there for about an hour, nothing really happening. Caught one little bite and then all of the sudden, the rod doubles over.” Daley noted the unique pull of the fish, suggesting it was unlike anything he had encountered before.
A Dream Come True
Keyton, who had expressed his desire to catch a large fish, was ecstatic with his unexpected achievement. “And I just said ‘I wanted to catch a big fish,’ and came out caught a great white shark,” he recounted, highlighting the surprise and excitement of the encounter.
Family Support
His mother, Salena Starr, praised her son’s fishing skills, reminiscing about his early introduction to the sport. “My son has been fishing since he was like five years old. His grandaddy introduced him into fishing, and just having the opportunity to see him catch a great white shark today was amazing,” she shared, clearly overjoyed by the moment.
The Challenge of Reeling It In
Video footage from the trip captures the intensity of the struggle as Keyton worked hard to reel in the shark. “It really felt like a workout. I ain’t gonna lie to you for real for real,” he commented, noting it took him about 30 minutes to successfully catch the shark.
