Miami’s 31st Annual Mango Festival Brings Sweet Summer Celebrations to Fairchild Garden

by Miami Highlight Contributor

Miami’s summer scene just got juicier. The 31st Annual Mango Festival returns to Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden on July 12–13 (10 a.m.–5 p.m.), transforming the lush 83‑acre landmark into a tropical playground for mango lovers of all ages.

This beloved festival is more than just fruit tasting—it’s a vibrant celebration of Miami’s cultural and culinary heart. Guests can wander through displays of hundreds of rare and exotic mango cultivars and shop for mango trees carefully grown by Fairchild’s Tropical Fruit Program.

The centerpiece of the festivities is the exclusive Mango Brunch on Sunday, curated by James Beard Award‑winner Chef Allen Susser, author of The Great Mango Book. A lineup of Miami’s top chefs—Cindy Hutson, Aaron Brooks, Cesar Zapata, Jose Mendin, and more—will serve inventive mango‑forward dishes. Offerings include mango brûlée brie on ginger‑mango bread, jerk seared tuna tataki with Julie mango salsa, Treasure Coast oysters with green mango criolla, goat ragu in mango curry sauce over coconut polenta, and mango sushi rolls featuring shrimp and passionfruit drizzle. Brunch tickets cost $135 for non‑members and $120 for members, with general admission included. This high‑demand event sells out annually.

Throughout the weekend, guests can enjoy mango cocktail flights, spirited mango smoothies, and non‑alcoholic options like the signature mango smoothie. Beer lovers can sample local craft brews through a La Tropical beer tasting flight. Fairchild also offers an educational edge with a lecture series featuring topics like pest management, grafting, and exotic mango varieties led by experts from USDA, University of Florida, and regional growers.

The festival ensures family fun with oversized games such as giant Jenga, cornhole, and water balloon toss, alongside arts and crafts workshops led by local artist Carlos Gallostra. Watercolor classes, magnet painting, Nature Bingo, and scavenger hunts are also included in general admission. For families, the bite‑size mango tasting allows attendees to sample three Fairchild‑grown mango varieties—a popular activity that tends to sell out quickly.

A bustling marketplace will feature artisanal mango‑inspired foods, handcrafted goods, and limited‑edition mango trees cultivated by Fairchild’s horticulturists—many of which are not available commercially.

Mangoes in Miami are more than a seasonal treat—they’re a cultural symbol of abundance, generosity, and citywide connection. During summer months, it’s common to see mango-themed bar specials and community giveaways, fostering unity and neighborliness across the city.

The Mango Festival runs Saturday and Sunday, July 12–13, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, located at 10901 Old Cutler Road in Coral Gables. Admission is $24.95 for adults, $17.95 for seniors, and $11.95 for children aged 3–11. Kids under 2 and Fairchild members enter free. A weekend pass is available for $44.90 for adults and $18.90 for children. Tickets, including those for the Mango Brunch, are available through Fairchild’s website.

The Mango Festival is one of Miami’s signature summer events—melding culinary excellence, horticultural education, family entertainment, and cultural celebration under one canopy of tropical greenery. It spotlights South Florida’s unique mango heritage, highlights global fruit diversity, and strengthens community ties through shared seasonal joy.

Whether you’re a foodie seeking innovative mango creations, a family looking for outdoor fun, a plant enthusiast prospecting rare trees, or simply chasing Miami’s vibrant summer vibe, the Mango Festival offers a rich, flavorful experience for everyone.
