Joel Mchale, Vera Labelle And Grace Palmer Talk About Season

You can’t tell a raccoon to freeze, and you can’t read a possum its Miranda rights. I mean, it’s possible, but Possums usually have a problem with “everything you say can be used against you.” These are the kinds of challenges facing Fox’s “Animal Control.”

Michael Rowland (Fred “Shred” Taylor): “This is truck number 12. Back to the giraffe.”

FOX’s “Animal Control” team is back for a wild third season.

Vera LaBelle (Emily Price): “There have been reports of a gorilla in Overlook Park.”

Kelly Ogmundson (as Dolores Stubb): “Wait, sorry, but please check again. Did I mention that gorillas are like great apes?”

Ravi Patel (Amit Patel): “Or more like a freedom fighter?”

No, you heard right. Primates aren’t the only animals taking to the streets in the season premiere.

Vera LaBelle: “This episode starts with a break at the zoo. So it was like all the animals being thrown at you. So it was kind of, it was, it was a total bewilderment…”

Joel McHale: “It was a zoo.”

Bella Lovell: “It was an actual zoo.”

Joel McHale, Vera LaBelle, and Grace Palmer loved returning to their characters. They said it was like they were playing themselves.

Joel McHale: “It’s good for comedy to plant a seed and let it mature a little bit and figure out the rhythm of the show.”

Vera LaBelle: “It’s a wonderful wine.”

Michael Rowland (as Fred “Shred” Taylor): “Looks like there’s two smoothies in the truck. You know what I’m saying, right? Smooth devil.”

Joel McHale (Frank Shaw): “Shred, you know I want to like you, right?”

Michael Rowland (Fred “Shred” Taylor): “I think so.”

Vera Lovell: “I think they really started writing to us too, and we gradually became our own characters. At the moment, life and art seem to be very blurred. I feel like what we’re all actually doing is just kind of popping up in the script, and right now it’s so easy and fun to jump right back to where we left off. I feel it.”

The actors said working on this new season was a fun collaboration, thanks to the writers.

Grace Palmer: “They’re really receptive, generally speaking, on point and getting it right. And, oddly enough, even when we don’t, they’re the ones who challenge us to do it.” We’re very open to asking if we can change something. ”

For the show to work, being relatable was paramount.

Bella said that the script sometimes reflected her own real life.

Vera LaBelle: “There comes a line that says something like, ‘We’re doing trivia,’ and I say, ‘I know it’s a short book, because it’s the best part about prom and high school dances.’ I was like, ‘Oh, I read that.’ I was like, ‘Okay, that’s very sad.

Joel McHale: “The researchers are amazing. They sent someone back to her high school.”

Vera LaBelle: “It goes deep into our lives.”

Joel McHale (Frank Shaw): “Everyone wins!”

Season 3 of “Animal Control” premieres Thursdays at 9 p.m. for the next 7 days.
