SUNRISE, Fla. (AP) – Jesper Boqvist scored twice, including the go-ahead goal in the third, and the Florida Panthers defeated the New York Rangers 5-3 on Monday night.
Etu Luostarinen, Aleksandar Barkov and Macky Samoskevic also scored for Florida, while Uvis Balinskis had two assists. Sergei Bobrovsky made 33 saves.
Florida took a 3-2 lead on Boqvist’s second goal. Igor Shesterkin found the puck, scrambled out, and smashed it into the open net. New York’s Chris Kreider tied it with a power-play goal 5:19 into the third.
Filip Sitil and Ryan Lindgren also scored for New York. Shesterkin stopped 21 shots and Adam Fox recorded his 27th assist of the season.
Luostarinen tipped Gustav Forsling’s shot past Shesterkin for 3:04, ending Florida’s two-game scoreless streak.
