Authorities in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, are actively seeking assistance from the public in the search for a suspect connected to a violent sexual assault against a housekeeper. The incident occurred at an Airbnb rental property on Southeast 19th Street in August of the previous year.

Details of the Incident

The victim, who has chosen to remain anonymous, recounted her traumatic experience in a recent interview. “On August 28th, my life changed forever,” she explained. While fulfilling her job duties, she was attacked by an intruder who broke into the property.

According to the police, the assailant approached the victim from behind, forcibly threw her to the ground, and restrained her using zip ties and a knife before committing the assault. Sergeant Hector Martinez from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department remarked, “The suspect came from behind the victim, threw her down on the ground, tied her, and proceeded to sexually assault her.”

Victim’s Response and Legal Action

After the attack, a loud noise startled the perpetrator, allowing the victim to call the police from her pocket. First responders found her injured and restrained, and she was subsequently transported to Broward Health Medical Center for treatment.
