Four Arrested Following Armed Robbery and Shooting Incident

HOLLYWOOD, FLA. – Authorities in Pembroke Pines have apprehended four suspects connected to an armed robbery that escalated into a shooting, unfolding over two cities on Tuesday.

Details of the Incident

The involved individuals—identified as Raheim Sawyer, Michael Grant, Lavitta Kemp, and Manny Acosta—were taken into custody as part of the investigation. The chain of events began at the Cortland Apartments, located on Southwest First Street in Pembroke Pines, where the robbery transpired.

Following the incident, the male victim reportedly jumped into his BMW and pursued the suspects into Hollywood, where the confrontation escalated. According to police reports, the victim was shot at while traveling along the 6400 block of Harding Street.

Police Response

A dispatcher was heard relaying details of the incident, stating, “Armed robbery. Advise [victim] stating he was robbed and they started shooting at 6481 Harding Street.” Witnesses noted that a dark-colored Jeep Compass appeared to be connected to the case.

Footage captured by 7News showed the SUV parked on Harding Street, displaying signs of a bullet impact, but fortunately, there were no injuries reported in the incident.

Ongoing Investigation

The police revealed that the victim had ties to one of the arrested individuals, Lavitta Kemp. However, as of noon on Wednesday, the specific charges against the suspects had not been disclosed, and it remains unclear whether authorities are still searching for a fifth individual who may be involved in the robbery.
