FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (WSVN) – A 33-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the stabbing of an Amazon delivery driver in Fort Lauderdale last week, police said.
Fort Lauderdale resident Curtis Gardner was taken into custody by the Fort Lauderdale Police Department Fugitive Unit Monday morning after detectives obtained a warrant for his arrest. He is charged with felony attempted murder, armed carjacking and battery robbery, police said.
The incident occurred on the night of Dec. 7 in the 1100 block of Northwest 10th Terrace.
Investigators say the Amazon driver’s car was disabled due to a flat tire when Gardner approached, brandished a knife and stabbed the driver.
Police said the suspect also committed a robbery during the attack.
The driver suffered serious injuries but is expected to recover, officials said. Police said there was no evidence that the tire puncture was intentional and that the incident occurred randomly.
The investigation is ongoing and police are appealing for anyone with further information to come forward.
