Vero Beach Man Allegedly Plotted to Kill Teen Witness

Indian River County, Florida — A 70-year-old Vero Beach resident, Andrew Mustapick, is facing severe legal repercussions after being accused of attempting to eliminate a teenage girl who was set to testify against him. This allegation follows an earlier incident in 2021, where he coerced the minor into signing a “sex slave contract.”

Background of the Case

Mustapick’s legal troubles began when the teenage victim alerted law enforcement to the exploitation she was experiencing. An investigation led to his arrest after the girl disclosed that Mustapick had forced her to enter into a contract requiring her to serve him in a sexual manner two days per week. In exchange, he offered to buy a car for one of her friends.

Recent Developments

Months after his initial arrest and following a plea deal, Mustapick was scheduled for sentencing in June. However, in a surprising turn, he allegedly devised a plan to evade justice by attempting to have the victim killed before she could testify. According to Indian River County Sheriff Eric Flowers, Mustapick’s intent was clear: “His plan was to withdraw the plea deal. And then if the victim was no longer here, he essentially gets sentenced to nothing.”

Allegations of Murder-for-Hire

Evidence suggests that Mustapick offered substantial sums of money to prevent the teenager from testifying. Initially, he allegedly proposed $40,000 to persuade her to back out, and subsequently, he offered an additional $50,000 to have her killed if she remained determined to testify. These actions prompted authorities to intervene following a tip-off from a concerned citizen, described by Sheriff Flowers as a “hero” for coming forward.

Ongoing Investigation

In separate footage, Mustapick was seen disposing of various electronics into a river, further complicating his case. His current legal status places him in the Indian River County Jail, where he is being held on a $7,000 bond.

Community Response

The community is grappling with the implications of these events, highlighting the importance of whistleblower protection and the role of vigilant citizens in combating serious crimes.
