Miami Dolphins Release Long Snapper Blake Ferguson

Location: Miami Gardens, FL

Date: October 5, 2023

Roster Adjustments

The Miami Dolphins announced on Thursday that they have part ways with long snapper Blake Ferguson, who played five seasons with the team. This move is part of a broader effort to adjust the roster, as the Dolphins also released three other players: cornerback Ryan Cooper Jr., defensive tackle Neil Farrell, and offensive lineman Chasen Hines.

Ferguson’s Contributions

Ferguson, drafted in the sixth round of the 2020 NFL Draft, appeared in a total of 72 games for Miami. During his tenure, he made notable contributions on special teams, including:

  • 8 special teams tackles
  • 1 fumble recovery

However, Ferguson did not participate in the latter half of the previous season due to an undisclosed medical issue, leading the team to utilize practice squad long snappers in his absence.
