St. Augustine Deputies Rescue Dog from Locked Car

On April 6, deputies from the St. John’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to an urgent report involving a dog confined in a locked vehicle at a Home Depot parking lot in St. Augustine, Florida. Body camera footage captured the intense moments of the rescue.

Upon arrival, deputies found the car’s windows rolled up and the engine off, while the dog appeared to be in significant distress. Witnesses indicated that the dog had been trapped inside for a minimum of 15 minutes. With external temperatures soaring into the 80s Fahrenheit, the inside of the vehicle may have reached over 100 degrees.
