Cinco de Mayo Celebrations in South Florida: A Festive Overview
This year, Cinco de Mayo falls on a Monday, but that won’t put a damper on the festivities across South Florida. Three prominent venues are set to host vibrant celebrations filled with food, music, and entertainment.
Cinco de Wynwood: A Block Party Extravaganza
Liz Cueto shared insights about the annual Cinco de Wynwood block party, which promises to attract over 1,000 attendees at the Wynwood Marketplace. “We have multiple live DJs and a mariachi band to infuse the event with a genuine Mexican ambiance,” Cueto stated.
In addition to the music, attendees can enjoy a mechanical bull ride, a staple at this exciting gathering. “We’ll have a wide selection of tequila flowing throughout the venue, alongside ten distinct flavored margaritas available at every bar,” Cueto noted.
Authentic Mexican cuisine will be showcased, with local vendor The Pink Paloma offering a variety of dishes, including tacos and a special quesadilla stuffed with smoked picanha. Guests can also indulge in Elote in a Cup topped with queso fresco and spicy Cheetos.
Admission to the event is affordably priced at $5, which includes a complimentary drink. For those seeking a more exclusive experience, VIP tickets are available for $15.
Coyo Taco: Savoring Tacos and Margaritas
For taco enthusiasts, Coyo Taco at Las Olas is a must-visit destination. As Cesar Agu stated, “Cinco de Mayo is our most important day, celebrating through delicious food and drinks.” The restaurant will be featuring birria tacos fresh off the grill and cheesy shrimp quesadillas.
Margaritas will be served for just $5, enhancing the festive atmosphere that will include live DJs and games.
Lime Fresh Mexican Grill: A Celebration Like No Other
Lime Fresh Mexican Grill is gearing up for what they refer to as their “Super Bowl” of holidays. Grant Gussin commented, “Our award-winning frozen margaritas come in traditional lime as well as flavors like strawberry, mango, passion fruit, and spicy.”
Guests can also enjoy $3 beers throughout the event, with local locations featuring a DJ spinning a mix of Latin and pop hits to keep the party lively. Additionally, Gussin revealed that a gift card will likely be raffled off to a lucky attendee at each location.
