Vehicle Crashes into Southwest Miami-Dade Home, Almost Hitting Resident
Incident Overview
In a dramatic late-night incident in Southwest Miami-Dade, emergency responders were called shortly after 1:15 a.m. on Thursday to the 2700 block of Southwest 92nd Avenue due to a vehicle striking a residential property.
Details of the Crash
A Nissan Rogue SUV reportedly lost control at a nearby roundabout and collided with the side of the house, coming alarmingly close to where a young woman was asleep in her bedroom.
“They almost hit someone who was in bed, they almost crashed into the bed. Thank god nothing happened to her,” said Paola, the homeowner, reflecting on the terrifying scenario.
Emergency Response
Firefighters from Miami-Dade quickly responded to the scene, attending to the young woman, who fortunately sustained no serious injuries. The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was also treated on-site and did not require hospitalization.
Investigation and Safety Concerns
While the investigation into the crash is ongoing, questions about the visibility and effectiveness of signage at the roundabout have emerged. Paola pointed out the absence of lights indicating the roundabout, implying that this may have contributed to the accident.
