The holidays are approaching and so is all the eating. The struggle is real, but thanks to apps, mindful eating can be done in a fraction of the time. Combine that with growing your own food, and yes, all you sow is love.
If you can’t keep your plants alive, there’s an app to solve that problem.
If you want to know which plants are good for you, there’s an app for that too…thanks to Asha Walker’s Cured.
Asha Walker: “Cured is a wellness library that puts real people in the driver’s seat of their wellness journey with over 70 modules based on diet, exercise, and longevity practices. I call myself a wellness entrepreneur, so for me, my mission is to share the power of health through urban farms and apps that help people live healthier lives.”
This source of information can leave out the important stuff, especially during this special time.
Asha Walker: “I think the holidays pull us in different directions. I think it’s really important to build a foundation, a foundation of health, through the ups and downs of the holidays, so Cured is just that foundation of health. It provides practical tips and tools on how to use them and implement them on a daily basis, and then walks you through goal setting and reflection activities so you can put them into practice. You can develop that habit.”
Asha also digs deep to help establish good habits through Health in the Hood.
Asha Walker: “We teach nutrition and fitness. At our urban farm, it truly becomes our living classroom, and everything we grow is provided free of charge. I They hire neighbors to help maintain the farm, truly working from the inside out. We’re building a healthier community from the outside in. So we’ll be planting crops all through the holiday season, so we’ll have a ton of collard greens by Thanksgiving in November. Again, for the Christmas holidays. Prepare lots of kale and mustard greens.
Pinewood Gardens in North Miami has peppers, all kinds of herbs, and even radishes.
Asha Walker: “The amazing thing about growing your own food in your backyard is the fact that you can do it. So today we’re going to plant some kale. It’s very simple. I think we’re really overcomplicating the whole process of growing food. When you have beautiful soil, loving hands, and beautiful plants, it really does the magic.”
Nicole Fowles: “Food grown in your own garden tastes so much better than food you buy in the store. It tastes fresher. If it’s supposed to be sweet, it tastes sweeter. “If it’s supposed to be spicy, it tastes sweeter. , it will give you a tingling effect. Please come to the garden any time.”
