SOUTHWEST MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) – Twelve Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units were called to a kitchen fire at an apartment building in Southwest Miami-Dade early Tuesday morning.
Firefighters arrived near the 15300 block of SW 106th Terrace at 7:46 a.m. and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the apartment’s kitchen.
Crews quickly brought the fire under control and remained on scene to extinguish hot spots and provide ventilation to remove any remaining smoke.
One person was treated at the scene but did not require hospitalization.
The American Red Cross was called to assist those displaced by the fire.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
