Beach House Swim Show: A Celebration of Fashion and Female Empowerment
As summer approaches, the Beach House Swim Show in Miami Beach is set to showcase a dynamic fusion of fashion and female empowerment, featuring an array of unique swimwear designs. Hosted at the Grand Beach Hotel, this event promises a refreshing take on beachwear, highlighting innovative contributions from emerging female designers.
Event Highlights
This Saturday, the Carousel Club in Hallandale Beach will transform into a vibrant scene for swimwear enthusiasts. According to Yamila San Martin, co-founder of the Beach House Swim Show, attendees can expect a diverse range of creations that deviate from everyday swimwear norms, offering an “out-of-the-box approach” to summer fashion.
Supporting Young Entrepreneurs
San Martin emphasized that the event also serves as a platform for budding designers to cultivate their careers. “This is an opportunity not only to get a great bathing suit but also to support these young entrepreneurs,” she noted, underscoring the dual mission of the show—promoting fashion while nurturing new talent.
Featured Brands
Twelve brands will showcase their latest collections, among which is Zucco Swim. Owner Emily Zuccaro explains her brand’s unique identity, claiming, “There’s no bikini like a zucchini,” a playful nod to the uniqueness of her swimwear. She highlights the popularity of retro-inspired boy shorts featuring polka dots that echo a nostalgic vibe from the 1960s.
Another brand, Kodiak Swim, emphasizes sustainability with a circular approach to materials. Owner Gabby Porto shared, “Every scrap fabric that would usually get thrown away gets turned into dog beds for shelter dogs,” reflecting a commitment to environmental responsibility. Kodiak Swim’s pieces offer versatility with mix-and-match options crafted by a female-led manufacturing team in Brazil.
Blue Mantis Swim, owned by Lauren San Martin, embraces a bold concept with its name inspired by the mantis—a symbol of female empowerment. She explained, “The mantis… kills its own mate, so it’s, like, very female empowerment.” The collection features creatively styled triangle bikinis adorned with knots and charms, adding artistry to traditional swimwear.
