Miami Man Arrested for Firing Handgun in Hotel Room
Incident Description
On Monday evening, deputies with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office apprehended a 26-year-old Miami resident after he allegedly discharged a firearm inside a hotel room located at the Fairfield Inn in Marathon, Florida. The time of the incident was recorded at approximately 6:50 p.m.
Details of the Arrest
The suspect, identified as Armando Donamaria, reportedly confessed to firing a 9mm handgun at the headboard of the bed. He claimed he believed the weapon was unloaded but could not provide a clear reasoning for his actions.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported as a result of the incident, which prompted swift police response.
Charges Filed
As a result of his actions, Donamaria faces serious legal consequences. He has been charged with firing a deadly weapon in an occupied dwelling and is currently in custody at the county jail.
