HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (WSVN) – A young patient at Joe DiMaggio Hospital received a special delivery on Christmas Eve morning.
Miramar Police Department officers stopped by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood to get in the holiday spirit.
They brought a box full of toys for the patient.
They visited some patients and personally delivered holiday pre-settings.
“They gave me Barbie dolls, they gave me slime, they gave me a lot of stuff,” patient Evianna Bright said.
“It just lights up the patients’ faces when they see the Miramar Police Department here,” said Lauren Hill of Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. “They are handing out toys and presents and it really brings a Christmas feel to our hospital.”
The officers are part of Operation Blue Squad, an effort to engage residents within Broward County.
