ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – The Federal Aviation Administration said Monday it has begun an investigation into what caused multiple drones to collide and fall from the sky during a weekend holiday show in downtown Orlando, Florida, injuring a 7-year-old. Announced. A boy who needs surgery.
The drone crashed into a crowd of thousands watching a show at Lake Eola Park in the city Saturday night. This show was cleared through the FAA.
“Our thoughts are with the family and everyone affected by the outcome of this event,” the city of Orlando said in a statement. “The city will continue to communicate with the vendor and the FAA to conduct a thorough investigation.”
Adrianna Edgerton told Orlando television station WESH that her son Alexander required surgery after being shot in the chest by a drone.
“He had his mouth slit with a knife, but he actually has a drone mark on his chest,” Edgerton said.
