POMPANO BEACH, Fla. (WSVN) – A teenage boy was taken to the hospital after a shooting in the Pompano Beach area, authorities said.
Deputies with the Broward Sheriff’s Office and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded to the scene of a shooting near the 1400 block of 6th Avenue NW Sunday just before 4:15 p.m.
Investigators say someone opened fire, striking the boy.
Emergency services made contact with the juvenile victim and transported him to an area hospital for treatment. The boy’s condition was unknown as of late Sunday night.
Detectives are continuing to investigate, but have not released any further details, including the gender and age of the victim or information about the possible target.
