Jay Z Denies Allegations That He And Sean 'diddy' Combs Sexually

(CNN) A woman who claims Sean “Diddy” Combs sexually assaulted her has amended her lawsuit to include allegations that Jay-Z also sexually assaulted her at the same party.

The lawsuit was originally filed against Combs in October, but on Sunday the woman added rapper and businessman Shawn Carter, known as Jay-Z, as a defendant in the civil suit.

Carter is the first celebrity to be accused of sexual assault in connection with Combs.

In a statement to CNN, Carter called the allegations “so heinous in nature that I would like criminal charges to be filed instead of civil lawsuits!!” Anyone who commits such crimes against minors should be locked up, don’t you agree?”

Combs was charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and prostitution-related charges. Combs has pleaded not guilty and denies all wrongdoing in the approximately 30 civil lawsuits filed against him.

The woman, identified as Jane Doe, said she was 13 years old when she was allegedly assaulted by Combs and Carter at an afterparty after the 2000 Video Music Awards. A woman claims she became lightheaded after taking Jane Doe. While having drinks at a party, he wandered into a nearby bedroom. The woman claims Mr. Carter raped her first, and then Mr. Combs raped her. The amended complaint alleges that the woman punched Combs and ran away from the party.

Carter was identified as Celebrity A in the original lawsuit.

News of the lawsuit was first reported by NBC.

Doe’s attorney contacted Carter and requested “mediation to resolve this matter,” according to the complaint.

“Based on current information and belief, Jay-Z not only filed a completely frivolous lawsuit, but orchestrated a conspiracy to harass, bully, and intimidate the plaintiff’s attorneys, their families, employees, and former colleagues. In response to this letter, the plaintiff mentions Jay-Z’s name. This effort was intended to intimidate the plaintiff and discredit her attorney. In fact, the plaintiff was the result of Carter’s continued egregious conduct. “We have chosen to submit this proposed amendment as a result of this amendment,” the complaint states.

In a response to CNN on Sunday (addressed to Doe’s attorney), Carter called the mediation request an “attempt to intimidate.” Mr. Carter also said that the lawyer, “I did a little research on him, and he seems to have a pattern of this kind of theatrics!”

Houston-based attorney Tony Buzbee issued a statement Saturday, writing: This is a very serious issue and will likely be challenged in court. ”

CNN has also reached out to Jay-Z’s wife, Beyoncé Knowles, for comment.

Carter added in a statement that his “only heartbreaking thoughts” are with his family. Take these claims and explain the cruelty and greed of the people. I also mourn the loss of innocence. Children should not have to endure such things at such a young age. ”

CNN reported in November that an anonymous male celebrity filed a lawsuit against a Texas lawyer representing Doe, claiming he was the victim of an extortion scheme.

The celebrity accused Buzbee and his company of “shamelessly trying to extort exorbitant amounts of money from him or publicly filing grossly false and horrific allegations against him.”

In addition, the anonymous celebrity’s lawyers said that Buzbee had accused his client of “completely fabricated and sordid sexual harassment,” including “multiple incidents of rape against minors, both male and female, when he refused to comply with his demands.” He claimed that he had threatened to expose the alleged assault. ”

Buzbee said in an Instagram post that his office “will not allow powerful people or highly paid lawyers to intimidate or silence sexual assault survivors,” and in a statement to CNN. However, he denied the extortion claims against him.

“If you’re trying to hide your identity and insist you’ve done nothing wrong, I don’t think it’s a very wise approach to take,” Buzbee said in an email at the time. told CNN. “We will address it at the appropriate time.”

“I am confident that with full disclosure, this will all resolve itself,” Buzbee wrote.

Buzbee responded to Carter’s statement on social media on Sunday, saying the alleged victim “never asked him for a dime” and only asked for confidential mediation. Buzbee added: I’m so proud of her determination. ”
