North Beach Social brings a galactic experience filled with art, music, and community to Miami Beach.

During this free event, the bandshell will be transformed into a stunning planetarium, where the galaxy will be created using glow-in-the-dark thread, thanks to fiber artist Karel Levy.

Karel Levy: “There’s going to be a lot of pom-poms flying in the air. We’re building these together with the community and it’s great to see the fruits of our labor in this performance.”

Speaking of performances, Miami electric pop duo Afrobeta will take the stage to add to the magic.

Cuchi Amador: “Performing in Miami is always very special, and this show especially because we make it part of the artistic expression of our community.”

They are scheduled to perform their hit songs.

Afrobeta: “Everyone here is blaming God.”

But you can also expect to hear some memories of Miami.

Cusi Amador: “Since it’s kind of a holiday theme on this show, we’re going to do some remixes of some familiar Miami holiday songs that you might have heard. I may or may not do a remix of “Sabanero.”

This family-friendly event is brought to you courtesy of North Beach Social.

Christina Collins: “North Beach Social is a platform to showcase local Miami-based musicians and artists and an opportunity to celebrate their big moments.”

Everything is happening under the stars and you have the chance to participate in the creative process.

Karel Levy: “We want to make it interactive by having some stations where people can make pom-poms during the performance. This is not just a show for them, but for our community and our It’s also about the community coming together to put on this show.”

December 19th will be less fun.
