SW MIAMI-DADE, Fla. (WSVN) – Christmas night turned into a nightmare after four people in a group of people in Southwest Miami-Dade were shot and taken to the hospital.
Miami-Dade police said they responded to a report of a shooting near the 26000 block of Southwest 138th Court Wednesday just before 6:30 p.m.
“Dodge Charger, 4 door, 2022,” the dispatcher said over the police scanner.
Police said three of the four people shot were taken to Baptist Health Homestead Hospital in a Dodge Charger driven by a friend.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue subsequently airlifted two of the three victims who were taken by vehicle to Jackson South Medical Center due to their serious injuries.
MDFR paramedics also transported a fourth victim, who was left behind in the home, to Jackson South Medical Center.
Investigators say all the victims are in critical but stable condition and are expected to make a full recovery.
Police spent the night scrutinizing evidence and setting up markers near the shell casings.
Detectives said the shooter may have been a woman the victims knew personally.
As of 10:30 p.m., the subject remains at large.
Police are investigating the cause of the shooting.
